Wet Dreams
2020 - 2019
My artwork series, Wet Dreams, is an exploration of the complex and often contradictory emotions that arise from experiences of trauma and their impact on intimacy. Drawing on my own experiences, I create half-portraits of a single psyche, depicting the duality of desire and inhibition that coexist within us.
Through these works, I explore the ways in which trauma can affect our relationship to our bodies, to desire, and to intimacy, and how these experiences can manifest in the present. By creating these half-portraits, I aim to convey the sense of internal conflict and struggle that can arise from these experiences, and the need to find a sense of balance and coexistence between these often opposing forces.
