The Oak Cliff Cultural Center is proud to partner with Over the Bridge Arts in presenting and hosting Burning Woman, a full length curated visual and performing arts production that encompasses artists of all backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, sexualities and ages in an inspiring multi-genre experience. The theme is Save The Planet, and the festival illuminates environmental concerns through the lens of performing and visual arts.

Burning Woman opens on November 17- 18 with a reception from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. The visual art exhibition, short films, and the 7:00 PM drum circle are free to attend. Ticketed performances begin at 8:00 PM on both nights. The visual art exhibition will be on view through December 15, 2023. Each performance is followed by a free “meet the artists” reception.

Burning Woman 2023 is directed by Lori Sundeen Soderbergh and features dance by Adam Rech, Annalise Boydston/Sarah Tran, and Alexandra Light; short films by Jessica Thomas, Camille Smith, and Lori Sundeen Soderbergh; spoken word by Tammy Melody Gomez, Tamitha Curiel, and KT Witten; music by 2b1world, and theater by Teatro Flor Candela.

In addition to performances, Five Windows, an exhibition curated by Iris Bechtol will feature art installations by Danielle Ellis, Doug Land, Eliana Miranda, Laura J. Lawson, and Narong Tintamusik.

Over the Bridge Arts is a multi-genre arts nonprofit founded in Oak Cliff in 2017 that provides a platform for inclusive creative expression, connection and community for new and evolving artists. Founded on the belief that our community needs diversity, inclusion, and unity, Over the Bridge Arts is an organization that opens its doors to everyone. Burning Woman was founded by director Lori Sundeen Soderbergh in 2018 as a female creative response to the #metoo movement. It has since expanded to include all genders.
